Greetings, Timmons Families!
The past two weeks have been busy at Timmons. We held our Fall Parties, where students were able to display their costumes and engage with a variety of games and crafts. We completed our parent-teacher conferences. We thank all our families for the partnership in supporting your child. Conferences are so valuable, and we hope that the information we were able to share assists you in supporting us from home.
In November, our PEAK focus is on the trait of gratitude. Timmons Elementary School is participating in a food drive that benefits the Bainbridge Area Food for Friends Pantry. Our students will be able to see how their good deeds can help out in our community. We hope that our families can support our students in this service project.
In conclusion, I want to take the opportunity to extend our appreciation to all veterans who have served our country...Thank You!
With Gratitude, Dave Rogaliner

Veterans Day: We Are Grateful for Our Veterans |
On Tuesday, November 11, third-grade students participated in a Veterans Day Program consisting of two components. To begin the day, families and veterans were invited to a concert performed by the third-grade students titled “Everyday Heroes.” The students sang songs that paid tribute to America and those who have or are currently serving the country. During the performance, a slideshow featuring pictures of family members and friends who have served in the military was proudly displayed for all to see. Veterans who are connected to our students were invited to the program as an expression of our gratitude.
After the students completed the music program, guest speakers from the various military branches of the Armed Forces joined our third-grade students to share their stories. These speakers were parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, family, and friends who are currently serving or who have served in the military. They were invited to share military mementos, pictures, medals, models, etc., but most importantly, their words, as the students gain so much from hearing about their experiences.
We honor our veterans and are forever grateful for the sacrifices they have made.

Kenston Stadium and Tennis Courts Closed for the Season |
|
|
|
As winter approaches with cold temperatures and wintry weather, please note that the Kenston Stadium (including the track) and Tennis Courts are closed for the season. The hazards of winter weather (including slippery surfaces, strong winds, and cold temperatures) require the facilities to be closed, which will extend their life. The stadium and tennis courts will reopen in the Spring of 2026.
The 1.5-mile Kenston trail is available year-round; however, it is open only during non-school hours and when not in use by a team. This trail provides many opportunities to enjoy nature and exercise, but only during non-school hours. Please also note that dogs are not permitted on the trail or on campus unless they are service dogs.

World Kindness Day November 13
|
About World Kindness Day...
Created in 1998 to inspire others to perform kind acts and pass it on, this day has been recognized in many countries throughout the world for many years. The recognition offers an opportunity to highlight good deeds in the community and common threads of kindness, promoting the belief that small acts of kindness can change the world or, at a minimum, our mental health.
Kindness Increases:
◉ Oxytocin and Serotonin - powerful hormones that stabilize mood and provide feelings of well-being.
◉ Energy - some people report a spike in energy after doing good for others.
◉ Pleasure - kindness toward others lights up the brain’s pleasure and reward centers.
Kindness Decreases:
◉ Pain - produces endorphins, the brain’s natural painkillers.
◉ Stress - reduces the stress hormone cortisol in the body.
◉ Anxiety and depression - kindness elevates mood, wards off social avoidance.
◉ Blood pressure - as oxytocin is produced, nitric oxide is released (chemical dilating blood vessels; lowers blood pressure)
Happy World Kindness Day!!

Flu Season is upon us...If your child is exhibiting signs of illness (fever, cough, lethargy, etc.), please keep them home from school. Additionally, please contact the building office at the start of the school day if your child is ill and will not be attending school.
As a reminder, it is important to model for your children how to cover your cough and/or sneeze in your elbow and to wash hands often. Experts recommend washing your hands with soap and clean water for at least 20 seconds. We teach the children to sing the alphabet as a guide.
