January 30, 2026 Greetings, Timmons Families!
As we round out the month of January, I hope everyone is staying warm during these bitterly cold temperatures! The month of February highlights the PEAK trait of compassion. Over the course of this month, our students and staff will engage in a variety of ways to help others and show our compassion towards one another. Timmons will partner with the American Heart Association to raise funds for research and outreach programs that support heart health. Our students will receive an assembly to kick off this drive, and communications will be sent to families throughout the two-week campaign beginning February 6th.
Additionally, our students will participate in a service project connected to the Valentine parties. Students will create cards for patients who are affected by a heart issue and may be staying in one of our area hospitals. Details of this project are still being developed and will be in place in time for our parties.
Finally, I would like to thank our community partners who support our students' learning experiences. Whether it be the clubs at Kenston High School that share an important lesson with our students, the Kenston Foundation that supports teacher grants, or community resources (Geauga Park District, Bainbridge Fire and Police, etc.) that provide learning experiences for our students. We are very lucky to have these partnerships!
With Gratitude, Dave Rogaliner Principal |

Community Partners Support Our Learning |
Learning opportunities are offered in a variety of ways at Timmons. Certainly, our teachers make connections with our students' experiences outside of the classroom as well as draw upon their interests to create lessons that are engaging and fun.
We are also lucky to have a very supportive community. Over the course of the year, we have had the Geauga Park District share resources, and experts have visited TES to deliver lessons. We also enjoyed having some of our very own high school students share important information about handwashing. Most recently, Dr. Minich, a local orthodontist and Kenston parent, visited all our grade levels to emphasize the importance of caring for our teeth. He and his assistant shared the appropriate ways to brush teeth, the reasons why, how it keeps us healthy, and how regularly visiting a dentist supports dental hygiene. We thank Dr. Minich and his team for supporting our school with this important lesson.

Bravo, 2nd Grade! “Bugz” Performance Was Un-Bee-Lievable |
|
|
|
Today, the Timmons Elementary School second-grade students gave a buzz-worthy performance through their music program, Bugz. Students spent countless hours practicing songs, learning speaking parts, and mastering instruments to put on an impressive show for their friends and family.
This music performance reinforces the CKLA Curriculum unit on insects, which is currently the second-grade students’ area of focus, bringing classroom learning to life through music and performance. |

Important Clinic News: Flu Season Reminder |
Flu season is upon us! If your child is showing signs of illness—such as fever, cough, or fatigue—please keep them home from school. Additionally, contact the building office at the start of the school day to report your child’s absence. To help prevent the spread of germs, it’s important to model healthy habits at home: - Cover your cough or sneeze with your elbow.
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and clean water for at least 20 seconds. (A fun tip: singing the alphabet while washing is a great guide!) By working together, we can keep our students and staff healthy and safe this season. |
Reminder of Winter Weather Preparedness
|
|
|
|
As a reminder, please be sure children come to school dressed for winter weather by wearing warm coats, hats, gloves, and scarves. Dressing in layers when possible helps students stay comfortable as temperatures change throughout the day. Students should also wear appropriate footwear designed for cold, snowy, or icy conditions to ensure safety during outdoor activities. When weather conditions are favorable, students will go outside for recess, so being properly dressed is important.

Save the Date - Kindergarten Parent Meeting |
Parents of children entering Kindergarten this August are invited to attend the Kindergarten Information Night on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 7 pm, held in person at Timmons Elementary School.
During the evening, families will learn more about the Kindergarten program and the registration process. In accordance with new Ohio law, children must be five (5) years old on or before the first day of school to be eligible for Kindergarten. We look forward to welcoming our newest Bombers to the Kenston Bomber family. |
