As Kenston High School winds down the first semester, December highlights the character trait of LOVE. Love is shown through kindness, respect, empathy, and support for others. When students feel valued, they are more likely to engage positively in class, take academic risks, and challenge themselves to grow. Demonstrating love also helps build trusting relationships within a learning environment where all students can succeed.
As we close the semester and look ahead to new courses, we encourage students to reflect on their time management and study habits and consider what changes may help them feel more prepared for future courses and career pathways. KHS is proud of our students’ hard work and perseverance and looks forward to continued growth in the second semester. We wish all students, families, and staff a safe, restful, and joyful holiday season and look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, January 6, as we begin the new year together.
Thank you for supporting KHS and staying connected through the Bomber Bulletin. For daily updates, please check the Bomber Reminders announcements and the calendar links below. Sincerely,

INCubator Business Pitch Night Competition |
|
|
|
The KHS INCubator Class has been working hard all semester for their special night. The KHS Business Department, led by teachers Jeff Kepreos and Patrick Murphy, hosts this event as part of the Student Incubator Experience, in which student groups ideate, develop, and iterate on a startup business throughout the semester, culminating in a live pitch event. It was their moment to shine, and they left the audience with stars in their eyes. Congratulations to the eight Kenston High School student groups who presented at KHS INCubator Pitch Night on Thursday, December 4. Each group did a fantastic job impressing the Board of Advisors and the audience with their products and presentations. See the list below.

Important Clinic News - Please Read! |
|
|
Please read this very important letter from the nurses' office at Kenston High School. The letter contains information on policies, medication, and procedures.
Also, flu season is upon us! If your child is showing signs of illness—such as fever, cough, or fatigue—please keep them home from school. Additionally, contact the building office at the start of the school day to report your child’s absence. To help prevent the spread of germs, it’s important to model healthy habits at home: - Cover your cough or sneeze with your elbow.
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and clean water for at least 20 seconds. (A fun tip: singing the alphabet while washing is a great guide!) By working together, we can keep our students and staff healthy and safe this season. |

Team Tressel Fitness Challenge: Stay Active Over Winter Break |
|
| |
Kenston Local Schools partnered with the Team Tressel Fitness Challenge this year, providing 4th through 8th-grade students with opportunities to support a healthy and balanced lifestyle. As we head into winter break, we would like to remind students that it doesn’t have to mean pausing healthy routines. Instead, it is an excellent opportunity to practice balance, self-motivation, and consistency, which are key goals of the Team Tressel Fitness Challenge. Staying Active - Find fun ways to move each day - Go for walks, play outside, stretch, dance, or help with physical activities at home - Aim for regular movement that feels enjoyable and keeps your body energized Nutrition - Fuel your body with a variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, proteins, and whole grains
- Stay hydrated by drinking water throughout the day. Getting Enough Sleep - Try to keep a consistent sleep schedule, even during break - Power down screens before bedtime to help your body wind down - Getting enough rest helps improve mood, focus, and overall health
The Team Tressel Fitness Challenge focuses on making thoughtful choices, building healthy routines, and learning to care for yourself. Winter break is a great time to practice these skills, helping students return refreshed, confident, and ready to start the new year strong. |

Washington D.C. Trip - 8th Grade |
|
|
8th-grade parents/guardians,
This reminder was sent to all 8th grade parents and guardians regardless of whether or they have submitted payments and/or documents.
You should have made your first payment for Washington DC on November 7th (either a full payment of $660 or a partial payment of $220), turned in your permission slip (to the KHS front office), and submitted your financial aid request if needed.
Payments can be made on Infinite Campus (under "school store") or by cash or check (made payable to KBOE with your child's full name on the memo line). All cash or check payments should be in a clearly labeled envelope with "Washington DC" and your child's full name on the front along with our names (Mrs. Sedmak and Mr. Fromwiller) and can be given directly to the KHS front office.
The first round of checks will be deposited early next week once they are processed. If you would like to see your Infinite Campus payment for DC, you can see that easily on the parent portal by following the directions below:
If you are on a desktop/laptop computer, in order to view your payment records, you can click on "my account" under "My Cart". Then click on "Payment History" and adjust the search range.
If you are using the mobile app, Click on "fees", then the wallet icon on the top of the screen next to the cart. Then you will click on "Payment History" and adjust the range.
Our payment reports are delayed as they come from the Treasurer's Office weekly, so this will allow you the opportunity to see your payments in real time. You will also receive a receipt sent from Infinite Campus to your email for your records.
