Important information regarding:

College, Career, Workforce, and Military Readiness (CCWMR)

February 23 , 2026

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As part of Ohio’s school accountability system, each school district receives an annual report card that reflects how well we are preparing students for life after high school. One important component of this report card is the College, Career, Workforce, and Military Readiness (CCWMR) measure.

The CCWMR component is designed to show how prepared a graduating class is for postsecondary education, direct entry into the workforce, or military service. This measure is calculated each year and is reported publicly through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW).

A student is considered “ready” if they complete one or more of the state-approved readiness experiences listed below. These options reflect multiple pathways and recognize that success after high school looks different for every student.

Students may demonstrate readiness by:

  • Earning a remediation-free score on a college entrance exam
    • ACT: English 18, Math 22, Reading 22
    • SAT: Reading 480, Math 530
  • Earning one of Ohio’s five Honors Diplomas
  • Earning qualifying scores (3, 4, or 5) on at least three Advanced Placement (AP) exams
  • Earning 12 or more industry credential points in a single career field or a state license
  • Earning 12 or more college credits through the College Credit Plus (CCP) program
  • Enlisting in the U.S. Military
  • Completing a pre-apprenticeship program
  • Being accepted into an apprenticeship program
  • Completing an apprenticeship program
  • Achieving proficiency on three or more technical assessments in a single career pathway
  • Earning the OhioMeansJobs Readiness Seal and completing at least 250 hours of internship or work-based learning

This measure emphasizes that Ohio values college readiness, career skills, workforce experience, and military service equally. Our goal is to ensure every student has access to meaningful opportunities that align with their interests, strengths, and future plans.

Students who meet the standards for demonstrating readiness will receive recognition at graduation.  For the commencement ceremony, students will be honored by wearing a red graduation cord and will be identified in the graduation program with a readiness symbol recognizing this accomplishment.

If you have questions about how your student can meet readiness criteria or would like help exploring available pathways, please reach out to your school counselor or building administrator. We look forward to partnering with you to support every student’s successful transition beyond high school.

Warm regards,

Tom Gabram
