Dear KHS Parents,
February is the time of year when we begin looking ahead to course offerings for the 2026–2027 school year. To support this process, we provide a variety of resources to help guide students and families through course selection.
On Thursday, students in grades 8–11 attended a scheduling overview meeting during the extended lunch period in the auditorium. During this session, students received a hard copy of their course request sheets, which will need to be completed over the next three weeks. Students were also introduced to the scheduling resources available on the Guidance Department website, including grade level scheduling videos. These videos outline key information that all students should review prior to meeting with their counselor. Students were encouraged to review these materials with their parents or guardians so informed decisions can be made regarding future academic pathways.
On Monday, and lasting through the month of February, school counselors will start one-on-one scheduling meetings, beginning with current juniors. These meetings will last approximately 10 minutes and will focus on reviewing course request sheets and core placement recommendations. Counselors will also discuss college and career readiness expectations at each grade level and how students can demonstrate readiness based on established criteria.
It is encouraged that Kenston students challenge themselves through rigorous coursework. Students were asked to explore the wide range of academic opportunities available at KHS, including Career Technical Education programs through Auburn Career Center, Advanced Placement courses, and the College Credit Plus program. Each of these options is designed to meet individual student needs and support preparation for life beyond high school. School counselors will work closely with students to help guide them as they consider these academic options and future pathways.
Thank you for your continued support as we work with students to plan thoughtfully for the upcoming school year. Sincerely,
|

Blood Cancer United Bulletin |
|
|
| Kenston family and friends
We are incredibly proud to share that 17 students from Kenston High School are participating in the Blood Cancer United Student Visionaries of the Year campaign, running January 23 through March 14, 2026.
The Kenston student team is Delaney’s Defenders, named in loving memory of Delaney Nalepka, a former Kenston student who bravely battled leukemia and passed away in 2020. This team honors Delaney’s legacy by turning remembrance into action—raising funds to support blood cancer research, patients, and families.
Over the last six years, Delaney’s Defenders has raised more than $172,000.
This year, the goal goes beyond the seven-week campaign. With a goal of raising $45,000 in 2026, the team has the opportunity to surpass $200,000 in cumulative fundraising—a milestone that reflects years of dedication, teamwork, and belief in a future without blood cancer.
This is where the Kenston community can truly shine
Every donation, no matter the size, shows these students that their community stands behind them and believes in the impact they are making.
